Album review: Zeal, by Kings Kaleidoscope

     Christian music is not known for its best quality, originality or experimentation -- in fact, Christian Contemporary Music is well-known for the very same lack. Yet, as a Christian musician, I love to discover new music and artists brave enough to sing or play for Christ without the fear of "overplaying." In this sort of music, I have found my favourite two albums, one of which I will briefly review on this occasion: Zeal, by Kings Kaleidoscope.     Zeal is a concept album that explores common topics most Christians can relate to, such as apathy and brotherhood in Jesus' love. Kings Kaleidoscope goes through them while experimenting with catchy rhythmic patterns, sounds of different origins and bold poetry. By listening to it quite a few times, you might even be able to identify the level of attention to small details displayed in, for example, how "A Little Bit of Faith," the last track, mirrors the second one, "Hero Over My Head."     The though...
